Fractional Jet Europe has reported NetJets to the UK's Office of fair Trading
The complaint centres around NetJets' recent policy change that has prevented owners from including unused hours when assigning their contracts to a third party.
This has serious financial implications for any owner wishing to sell his share during the contract term. As a consequence of this change an owner will unquestionably need to reduce the asking price for the share, as the unused hours can represent a considerable value to the buyer.
Should the share remain unsold the owner will be left holding a depreciating asset, with ongoing obligations for fixed costs.
Anyone considering joining a fractional programme should take this development into consideration, as the flexibility of a contract, and the ease with which you can exit are important factors to consider.
